Return to Teaching

Return to Teaching Resources

This course is designed to update your skills and build your confidence before you return to the classroom. It is aimed at non-serving teachers who have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and who have not taught regularly for at least one year. This is a joint Primary and Secondary course, which is designed to meet the needs of each individual returning teacher.

The course combines school placements with sessions taught by Education Development Service (EDS) advisers who are highly experienced in working across the primary and secondary phases. Our course is aimed at getting you up-to-date on the latest changes in schools and helping you refresh your teaching skills, so you can make a confident return to class.

Financial support is available with participants entitled to a training bursary of £150 a week up to a maximum of £1,500.  See the TDA website for further information: www.tda.gov.uk/teachers/ returners
